Centers for Disease Control: Asthma on rise

Asthma is on the rise in this country, jumping more than 12 percent over a period of just eight years. That's said to be an increase of 4.3 million people, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

No one seems to know why the rate is going up. But the government says the new asthmatics are pushing the price tag for asthma care in the U.S. upwards too.

The CDC says new measures need to be put in to place including teaching asthmatics how to manage the problem.
