St. Sabina Church parishioners deny that suspended Father Michael Pfleger said he will preach at other churches if he is not reinstated at his South Side parish.
The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago suspended Pfleger last month after Pfleger suggested he would leave St. Sabina Church if he was reassigned.
Pfleger told parishioners he has received offers to preach from around the country.
But St. Sabina is disputing that Pfleger gave the cardinal an ultimatum, and that his comments were made only in response to a question from a parishioner who asked if he would be speaking or preaching again. Pfleger says he misses preaching and that he may accept offers to do so elsewhere if he's not able to preach at St. Sabina.
A spokeswoman for the archdiocese says Francis Cardinal George plans to meet with Pfleger but has not yet set a time.
