Magellan Spring Half Marathon and 10K

May 15, 2011 (CHICAGO)

Organizers say they expect 4,500 half-marathoners, 10Kers and junior dashers. May is Brain Tumor awareness month, and the race helps to support The Northwestern Brain Tumor Institute (www.braintumorinstitute.org), the official charity of the race. Runners hail from 32 states across the U.S., plus Brazil, Canada, Japan, Mexico and Spain. ABC7's John Garcia is among the runners.

When:
Sunday, May 15, 2011
7 a.m.: Start Magellan Chicago Spring Half Marathon
7:15 a.m.: 10k Start
7:45 a.m.: First 10k finishers crossing finish
8:15 - 8:20 a.m: First half marathoners crossing finish
9 a.m.: Award ceremony followed by Junior Dash
Followed by post-race picnic with live music!

The 6-acre Park at Lakeshore East (400 E. South Water ), where the Chicago River meets Lake Michigan and the Chicago lakefront running path.
