It happened at the Equistar Chemicals plant. The Chicago Tribune reports that a power outage caused concerns that a tanker might explode.
Grundy County emergency officials said people within a 1.8 mile radius of the plant were ordered to leave. They've since been allowed to return to their homes.
A company spokesperson said the cause of the power outage was being investigated but early reports indicated it might have been the result of the stormy weather.
No one was hurt.
