May 30, 2011 (CHICAGO)

For the past 17 years, Roeser's show aired on WLS-AM radio.

Roeser was an occasional commentator on WTTW's Chicago Tonight and Bruce DuMont's syndicated political radio show Beyond the Beltway, which airs locally on WLS-AM radio and led into Roeser's Sunday evening show.

Roeser was one of the first regular guests on the original version of DuMont's radio show, which was then called Inside Politics, more than 30 years ago.

WLS-AM posted a statement on its website reading in part: "Tom Roeser was a valued member of the WLS on-air lineup for 17 years... He was devoted to his principles and stalwart in his advocacy, respected by friend and foe alike."

Roeser's broadcasting career followed years spent in local and federal government as well as business.

Roeser also hosted a radio show on the Catholic Radio Network.

He died Sunday following a short illness. He was 82 years old.
