Police say an Illinois State Trooper came upon the scene around 4:30 a.m. near 112th Place and Hamlet and found one victim dead.
Chicago police say a man in his 20s was killed after losing control of his car and hitting the wall at 112th Place. No one else was in the vehicle.
The intersection was blocked off for at least 90 minutes after the crash, and 111th over I-57 was blocked as part of the invesitgation. The crash also temporarily closed the 111th Street exit from the inbound side of I-57.
