Summer Camp Health and Safety

When summer camp roles around so does camp physicals. Parents don't have to wait until last minute to make an appointment with their doctor. Minute Clinics, located in CVS pharmacies, is one option that offers a way to complete your child's camp physical. Nurse Practitioner, Erin Buckley also offer tips on what to pack in a child's backpack to eliminate problems, stay comfortable and protected from the elements while at camp.

PREPARATION FOR A HEALTHY CAMP EXPERIENCE BEGINS WITH A CAMP PHYSICAL

Required by most camps; so if your child hasn't received one this year, you should check about the camp's requirements

Even if it's not required, it's a good idea to make sure your child is healthy and able to safely participate in camp activities

Camp physicals include height & weight measurement, review of child's medical history, review of immunizations to make sure they are up-to-date, simple physical exam, educational tips for health & safety
