The victim says she stopped to catch her breath and was checking her iPod when a man approached her. But she says she doesn't think he was trying to steal the music playing device. She was able to fight him off.
"I just kept scratching him and he let go. He tried to grab my wrist. You could see my feet drag marks in the mud," she told ABC7.
The man ran from the scene. The victim flagged down someone driving by who called police.
The police say the incident has been classified as an attempted strong-arm robbery.
