According to their lease agreement, Rob and Lori Halpin have until the end of the month to leave. But moving trucks were outside the home in the 4200 block of North Hermitage Thursday.
ABC7 spotted saw Rob Halpin leaving the house. He made news last year when he refused to move out after Emanuel announced he was returning to Chicago to run for mayor. Halpin then briefly got into the race.
Emanuel's rented home became an issue in the mayoral race, raising questions on whether he satisfied the residency requirements to run for office.
After spending more than $800,000 in legal fees, the state supreme court eventually ruled in Emanuel's favor.
The mayor says his family will move in after some cleanup and work on his home.
