According to authorities, 6-year-old Marche Wilburn of south suburban Robbins drowned after a visit with her family to the Gary Air Show.
The Lake County Sheriff's Department says Wilburn was reported missing at Lake Street Beach after the air show ended at approximately 4 p.m. Saturday.
The Gary Fire Department found the girl in Lake Michigan about 15 minutes later.
She was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead.
