Fans of Manchester United, the powerhouse of English Premier League soccer, converged on the south end of Grant Park to watch their team take on the Chicago Fire in an exhibition match.
It was a chance for European "football" to take center stage in a sold out venue more accustomed to hosting American football.
"They have a very good team and even though Man U is a strong European team -- they've won a lot of European championships but Chicago's gonna win," said Chicago Fire fan Gino Gammariello. "I'm a Fire fan too but they're my No. 2 team," said Loni Cheever, adding that Manchester United is his No. 1 team.
Manchester United beat the Chicago Fire 3 to 1. Saturday's game featured the biggest crowd in Fire history at more than 61,000.
