On Wednesday, A Cook County jury awarded the money to Rhoni Reuter's family which had filed a civil suit.
In March, Yang was found guilty of killing Reuter and her unborn baby and was sentenced to life in prison. A jury determined Yang was jealous of Reuter's relationship with former Chicago Bear Shaun Gayle.
Although Yang doesn't have $40 million, the ruling prevents her from profiting from the sale of a book or interview.
