Ronald Raidy was part of a civil war reenactment. He had just helped fire a cannon when he collapsed.
As luck would have it, the Hinsdale hospital float was right behind him. The doctors and nurses on board quickly began CPR.
Then a Hinsdale police officer rushed over with a defibrillator and got Raidy's pulse back.
Paramedics took over from there until they could get Raidy to the hospital.
