Connie Roberson, 51, Kevin Roberson, 42, and Alan Roberson, all of the 1100-block of North Randall Road, are charged with one count of criminal neglect of an elderly person. They are accused of failing to maintain their roles as caregivers to their mother, who is 77 years old, with whom they share a residence, between June 18, 2011 and October 2, 2001. Part of their mother's leg had to be amputated. During a bond hearing, the prosecution showed pictures of the black, gangrenous leg before the amputation, and argued that the loss of that leg was a direct result of neglect.
Connie was charged on October 4. Her bail was set at $250,000.
Kevin and Alan were charged on October 6. Their bond was also set at $250,000 each.
If convicted, they all face 2 to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
