A prisoner who escaped from a squad car and was on the loose for more than 12 hours was captured Thursday morning in northwest suburban Crystal Lake.

James Henson faces several charges including burglary and escape.

The McHenry County Sheriff's office says he was found trespassing in a barn when he was first taken into custody on Wednesday. Once inside a squad car, investigators say he kicked out the rear passenger window and climbed out.

He was found at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday near a bike path.
