Chicago police are looking for a man who tied up a couple and took pictures as he held them at gunpoint in their own Northwest Side home.

According to authorities, the man made his way into the building in the 3000-block of North Sawyer early Saturday. He allegedly duct taped the victims' hands, mouths and eyes, then ransacked their apartment.

Police say the man took photos of the victims and got away with jewelry and money.

Chicago police describe the suspect as a black male in his 30s, approximately 5ft. 10 inches tall and 180 lbs. He reportedly was wearing a black knit cap and blue jacket with white stripes and carrying a black backpack.

Residents in the area were on alert Sunday. Chicago police advise residents to lock their doors and windows and to report any suspicious activity. Residents are also asked to pay attention to anyone loitering in the area and to alert neighbors about the crime.
