State Rep. Mulligan will not seek re-election

Republican state Rep. Rosemary Mulligan has decided not to seek an 11th term.

Mulligan's decision came after house republican leader Tom Cross said he wouldn't back her in the primary.

Mulligan tells our news partner the Daily Herald she decided to drop out of the race because she was "spending too much time getting angry about it."

The GOP primary is now between write-in candidates Susan Sweeney and Kelly Schaefer, both of Park Ridge.

Mulligan's current term runs until January 2013.
