Man charged in flower shop stabbing

The man accused of stabbing a worker during a flower shop robbery is being held on a half million dollar bond.

Alexander Hampton, 24, is charged with armed robbery and failing to register as a violent sex offender.

The incident happened last Thursday at the Asrai Garden floral shop in the 1900 block of West North Avenue.

Hampton allegedly picked up a sharp instrument and stabbed an employee in the head and arm, then took cash from the register.

The victim was treated and released from an area hospital.
