An Illinois state police trooper pulls a woman from a smoldering car just before it burst into flames.

It happened early Friday morning after the woman crashed the vehicle into a tollbooth on the Tri-State Tollway near Hazel Crest.

Trooper Zachary Peters found the woman slumped over in the driver's seat and unresponsive.

Peters wasn't able to open the driver-side door, so he smashed the passenger-side window and pulled the woman to safety before the vehicle caught fire.
