CTA President Forrest Claypool has signed an executive order establishing hiring preferences for those with military experience.
Veterans who apply will get credit for equivalent experience in the military that transfers to the CTA.
Their background in the armed forces will be factored into their overall scores.
The goal is to have a fifth of any applicant pool made up of veterans.
They are eligible for all jobs in the CTA, from driver to manager.
