Lawyers for convicted former Dixon Comptroller Rita Crundwell have asked for a sentence at the low end of the court's guidelines, according to a court filing.

That would amount to a term of about twelve and a half years.

Crundwell admitted stealing more than $53 million from Dixon and she will be sentenced next week. Her nephew has bought her ranch for more than a $1 million.

The property has been assessed at about $140,000 and it's not clear why it sold for 8 times that amount.
