The Evanston gun control advocate whose own son was shot to death last year will attend the president's State of the Union address next week.

Carolyn Murray has vowed to continue her work for stricter gun laws since her 19-year-old son Justin, was killed last November.

Murray will be the guest of Illinois Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky at the speech Tuesday night on Capitol Hill.

Murray helped organized a December gun buy-back program in Evanston, just weeks after Justin was killed.
