Dallas-bound Amtrak train stopped near Lincoln, forced to return to Chicago

September 3, 2013 (LINCOLN, Ill.)

Union Pacific says a contractor noticed a defect on a bridge and it was shutdown to make repairs.

Passengers say they're frustrated and want a refund.

"It's very annoying. I feel like they should return our money, because we've been sitting here for hours. I'm very upset with the situation," said Shamon Ampey, Amtrak passenger.

Passengers going to Springfield or St. Louis are getting bussed to their destinations, but everyone else is on their way back to Chicago to take another route to Dallas.
