Durbin says GOP leader told Obama 'I cannot even stand to look at you,' White House says insult hurling not true

In a Facebook posting over the weekend, Durbin said during shutdown negotiations a senior GOP House member told the president, "I cannot even stand to look at you."

Durbin never claimed to witness the exchange and did not give up his source.

The White House says the incident did not happen and there was a miscommunication during the briefing of Senate Democrats.
