The driver of a pickup ran a stop sign on Walker Road near Route 47 about 7:15 a.m. and was T-boned by a tractor trailer, which forced another pickup to crash, according to Illinois State Police.
Police said serious injuries resulted from the crash, though the exact number of people injured was not immediately available.
It's unclear exactly what caused this crash, but freezing fog was covering the area at the time.
All lanes in both directions of Walker Road remained closed for the investigation as of 9:30 a.m., police said.
Illinois State Police and Kendall County Officials are investigating this accident.
