Sprint drops early phone upgrade plan

A wireless carrier is dropping a new plan that offered customers early phone upgrades.

Sprint has ended its "one up" plan less than four months after it was introduced.

Customers could pay for their phones over 24-monthly installments, and then upgrade early.

The plan reportedly did not help Sprint build its customer base.

Sprint is now offering a family plan that gives subscribers a discount if they add friends and family to their plan.
