$1,000 reward in South Shore shooting of Comcast worker

A Comcast cable technician was shot during a robbery attempt in the city's South Shore neighborhood.

Crimestoppers is offering $1,000 for an arrest in the attack on a Comcast worker on January 8 in the South Shore neighborhood.

The cable technician was shot while sitting in his Comcast vehicle in the 7600-block of South Kingston Avenue. Police say a man approached him, stole his wallet, and shot him in the abdomen.

The worker was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

The suspect remains unidentified, according to a statement from Cook County Crime Stoppers, which announced Friday it is offering up to $1,000 for information that helps police make an arrest.

Chicago police said they planned to hand out flyers near the scene Saturday.
