Investigators say Erick Maya shot Briana Valle to death outside her Romeoville home. She died over the weekend.
Maya faces several charges in the shooting, and on Tuesday, murder charges were added to that list.
Prosecutors say Maya and the teenager used to have a relationship.
Valle's mother was also shot and is in good condition.
