Service members might have difficulty getting used to civilian life again, feel frustrated and isolated, have trouble sleeping, and more. One organization is trying to help in these difficult times. Mayslake Ministries, a Catholic non-profit ministry, offers a two-part outreach program for veterans and their families.
There will be a free Christian retreat for veterans in May. Also, a wine tasting fundraiser will raise proceeds for Mayslake Ministries, and you are invited! ABC 7 Eyewitness News Meteorologist Tracy Butler will be the master of ceremony for the "Pour Out Your Hearts" event.
Dr. Mary Amore, executive director of Mayslake Ministries, and major general, U.S. Army Retired James Mukoyama, president of Military Outreach, USA, came into our ABC 7 Eyewitness News studio to tell us about the organization and the upcoming events.
