Chicago Weather: Warmth to precede storms Thursday

May 8, 2014 (CHICAGO)

ABC7 meteorologist Tracy Butler says high temperatures are expected to reach the 80s for the first time this month at O'Hare. After as much as a 40-degree separation in temperatures Wednesday, numbers around the area will be closer Thursday, even with a slight lake-breeze.

Our average high today is 68. While a warm front has brought the warmth and possibly a few showers during the day Thursday, a cold front will usher in a slight risk for strong thunderstorms, especially Thursday night.

Don't be surprised if you hear some hail along with the rain from the storms, Butler said.
