CHICAGO (WLS) -- The third annual BTN Big 10K has quickly become one of the most popular summer races in Chicago and one of the fastest growing in the region.
Big Ten fans showcase their school pride Saturday when more than 15,000 runners will represent more than 45 states and seven countries, and two-time Heisman Trophy winner and famed Ohio State alum Archie Griffin is the master of ceremonies.
Starting at the iconic Soldier Field, the 5K and 10K course winds along the lakefront before looping back where friends and family can join in on the celebration at the family-friendly tailgate party, featuring music, a water slide, football-themed games and activities such as corn hole, field-goal kicking and the 40-yard dash, as well as appearances by BTN talent and former Big Ten student-athletes.
Fans can view the finish line online via a live stream at BTN.com or on BTN2Go, and runners can relive the day's experience during a one-hour special on the race, airing later Saturday on BTN at 8 p.m. CDT.
