ABC7, BUILD Chicago host first La Mesa Latina luncheon

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Latino high school students meet with Latino professionals to learn how to become effective leaders in their communities.

The La Mesa Latina luncheon was held Friday afternoon at the ABC7 Chicago studio on State Street. ABC7's Rob Elgas was part of the luncheon, moderating the discussion.

The event was hosted by BUILD Chicago, one of the city's leading gang intervention, violence prevention and youth development organizations, which is also a community partner of ABC7 Chicago.
