CHICAGO (WLS) -- Motorola Solutions has moved back to Chicago.
The company opened its global headquarters to 500 West Monroe Street in the West Loop Monday morning.
The new office has 800 employees. The new office houses its customer briefing center, ventures group, chief technology office, information technology and software engineering.
Motorola is keeping about 1,600 workers at its Schaumburg campus and spending about $83 million in renovations for the two remaining buildings there.
Motorola was founded in 1928 on Harrison Street.
