NEW YORK (WLS) -- Sam's Club, the warehouse club owned by Wal-Mart, will begin offering a credit card with a security chip embedded in it beginning this month.

Microchip technology is designed to make credit cards harder to duplicate or steal. It comes on the heels of Target's massive security breach last year that preyed on cards with magnetic strips.

The Sam's Club credit card will be available June 23rd, for members only.

Wal-Mart is expected to issue a similar card later this summer.
