SAN FRANCISCO (WLS) -- Spotify is asking some users to change passwords and upgrade software in the wake of a security breach. The music streaming service says hackers gained access to data.

So far the break-in has resulted in unauthorized access to only one user's account, according to a disclosure posted online by Oskar Stal, Spotify's chief technology officer, on Tuesday. He also said passwords and financial information were not stolen.

Spotify says it also will notify some users to upgrade the Google Android App as a precaution. For now, the company says users who have iPhones, iPads or a Windows-based device should not take action.

Some Android users will be required to re-enter their passwords to log in. Those who have to upgrade the app will also have to download all previously saved offline playlists again.

The Spotify security breach is just the latest in a line of hackings into prominent companies. Last week, eBay Inc. required its users to change passwords after its database was hacked. In November and December, hackers stole 40 million credit and debit card numbers from customers shopping at Target. Those hackers also stole personal information for about 70 million Target customers, prompting many to shop elsewhere.
