911 call released after taxi crashes into Glendale Heights home

GLENDALE HEIGHTS, Ill. (WLS) -- Eyewitness News obtained the 911 call a Glendale Heights woman made after a taxi crashed through her home and nearly landed on her husband.

"I need an ambulance a car just came through my front my house," the caller says.

"Through the front window?" the operator asks.

"Yes, in the bedroom, my husband's trapped -- somebody's running away!" the caller says.

Shawn Grisch survived the close call early Monday morning. He's being treated for a torn spleen and cracked ribs he suffered when the taxi busted through his bedroom wall and pinned him beneath a treadmill and other debris.

Police are still looking for the taxi driver.
