ZION -- Police investigators in north suburban Zion are still searching for information concerning a carjacking last week.

Deputy Chief Kirk Henderson told the Lake County News-Sun that the victim reported on May 6 that three black males wearing all black clothing and masks forced him out of his vehicle and then fled in the vehicle.

Henderson said the vehicle taken was a silver 2006 Toyota Scion four-door. The crime occurred on 29th Street near Elisha Avenue. The three men fled eastbound on 29th street in the vehicle toward Sheridan Road.

"We have no leads in the investigation righ now," said Henderson. No weapon was displayed.

"Our victim was very rattled and there was a delay in making a report," he said.

"All he knew was that he was on 29th Street west of Sheridan Road," Henderson said.

The vehicle has not been recovered.

Zion Police put out an Ispern alert to other area police agencies informing them of the carjacking and the type of vehicle involved in the incident.
