Day 2 of Chicago Air and Water Show featured ex-Bear in tandem jump
CHICAGO (WLS) -- Day 2 of the 58th Annual Chicago Air and Water Show on Sunday featured former Chicago Bears player Charles "Peanut" Tillman, who tandem jumped with the U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute team.
Sunday's show started on schedule, but Saturday's show was delayed two hours due to bad weather.
In fact, Tillman was slated to jump on Saturday, but the jump was cancelled. However, Sunday's weather was very pleasant and sunny.
"Nothing compares to that," Tillman said after jumping from an aircraft at 12,500 feet. "The adrenaline and excitement level was amazing."
Thousands attended the shows this weekend. On Saturday, several people waited out the rain before the show started with a parachute landing by the U.S. Navy Leap Frogs and the U.S. Army Golden Knights. The show ended with the headlining U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.

"I think everybody loves the speed and the power of the planes," said Steven Ford, who came to the show with his family.

Several civilian acts also took center stage. And as usual, crowd pleaser Sean D. Tucker and Team Oracle, didn't disappoint with his incredible aerial maneuvers.
This year's show also commemorated the 75th anniversary of the USO. The Illinois chapter of the Polish Legion of American Veterans was also recognized with a donation on Sunday.
A new act this year was the U.S. Air Force F-35, which flew in a heritage flight for the first time. The Chicago Fire Department showed off their abilities by demonstrating a rescue. And Susan Dacy - a local career pilot - was the only woman to fly in this year's show.
After being absent since 2011, U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds returned to close out the shows.
The show ran 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. along the lakefront from Fullerton to Oak Street. North Avenue Beach was the show's center.
