Chicago Lawn hit-and-run crash kills 72-year-old woman, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police are searching for the driver in a hit-and-run crash that killed a 72-year-old woman in the city's Chicago Lawn neighborhood.

The woman was allegedly struck by a vehicle while crossing the street in the 6400-block of South Kedzie Avenue on Jan. 19 around 2:05 p.m. Police said the driver then fled the scene.

The woman died as a result of her injuries.

The vehicle involved in the crash is described as a 1999-2003 Chrysler Town and Country minivan that was possibly tan-colored with windshield damage to the upper passenger side, police said. There also may be damage to the passenger side headlight.
