Police: Man tried luring teen into car in Jefferson Park

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are searching for a man who they say tried to lure a teenager into his car on the Northwest Side on Saturday.

The 15-year-old girl was walking in the 6100-block of West Berwyn Ave. at about 4:10 p.m. when a man in a white vehicle pulled to the curb and asked her if she needed a ride. The girl told him no and went directly home and alerted her father who called police. The man drove away down Berwyn Avenue and turned in an unknown direction.

The driver is described as about 50 years old, heavy set, balding with brown hair and unshaven. He was wearing prescription glasses and a green shirt. The vehicle is described as a new, four-door white sedan with no damage and clean appearance.
