ABC's new legal drama "Conviction" premieres on Monday with an unconventional heroine at the center of the show.

The show is filled with controversial and provocative cases. Each week, a legal team takes on a new case to decide if justice was served.

Hayley Atwell plays Hayes Morrison, a troubled former first daughter. She calls her character an anti-heroine that audiences will love to hate. She said her character is morally ambiguous, yet relatable.

The show focuses on work of the Conviction Integrity Unit, the CIU, which Hayes joined in a deal to avoid jail time for drug possession and to save face amid her mother's senate campaign.

The team is tasked with deciding if justice has been served in high profile cases.

"Conviction" debuts on Monday at 9 p.m. on ABC7.
