CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago Public Schools students are improving their attendance.
From pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, CPS attendance rose to 93.2 percent - a 0.7 percent increase - in the 2013-2014 school year. A statement from the mayor's office said 181,306 students improved their records of attendance with this increase.
The nation's third largest school district has a program in progress to deal with chronic absence and truancy.
