Police say one man is dead and another is in critical condition after a stabbing in the East Mount Airy section of Philadelphia early Wednesday morning.

MT. AIRY -- Philadelphia police confirm to Action News a member of rapper Nicki Minaj's touring group was killed and another critically injured during a stabbing outside an East Mount Airy bar.

On her verified Twitter account, Minaj confirmed the news, saying, "Two members of my team were stabbed last night in Philly. One was killed. They had only been there for two days rehearsing for the tour."

Police have not released the names of the victims.

It happened at 2:00 a.m. Wednesday in the 6300 block of Stenton Avenue near Johnson Street.

Police arrived after receiving a call from Einstein Medical Center, where two men were being treated for stab wounds.

At the scene they found a large amount of blood on the sidewalk along with a cell phone.

Witnesses told them an argument started in the bar and ended out on the sidewalk with two men being stabbed by a third.

Someone then took a 27-year-old man and a 29-year-old man to Einstein Medical Center where the 29-year-old was pronounced dead.

The second victim remains in critical condition.

Witnesses described the attacker as a man in his 30s with a full beard.

He was wearing a gray and black jacket and fled the scene in what police believe was a gray Buick LeSabre.

Police were questioning three witnesses, including the person that drove the victims to the hospital.

They were also checking surveillance cameras in the area for further clues.
