CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago's annual celebration of all things Latino is back on July 28-31, 2016. The 44th Annual Fiesta del Sol is the largest Latino festival in the Midwest.
This year, the four-day event features live entertainment, great food, a soccer tournament, art exhibits, carnival rides, workshops and free resources on health and housing.
In addition, this year, Fiesta del Sol is offering a College Day workshop event on Friday, July 29 and an Expungement and Immigration Resources Event on Saturday, July 30 at Benito Juarez Community Academy during the festival.
The Fiesta del Sol is organized by the Neighbors Community Council (PNCC). The non-profit organization works to establish justice and equity by investing in the development of community leaders through leadership training and action.
For the last 20 years, the Fiesta del Sol Guadalupe A. Reyes scholarship has helped students dreams of higher education come true; by giving $700,000 in scholarships to over 500 students. Chair and Co-Chair of the Fiesta del Sol's Art Pavilion, Joseph Mora and Sarita Garcia, joined ABC 7 to talk about the at the fun at this year's festival.
