CHICAGO (WLS) -- The bitterly cold weather in the Chicago area is making it a challenge for anyone venturing outside, and especially on firefighters who have to work in it.

Crews battling a house fire in the city's West Rogers Park neighborhood had to deal with ice and frozen hoses and hydrants Sunday.
The fire broke out around 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning in a home near Damen.
Several people managed to get out of the building safely, but at least one person was hurt in the blaze.
An investigation is underway into what sparked the fire.
