CHICAGO (WLS) -- Instacart announced a partnership with Binny's on Tuesday for alcohol delivery in Chicago. Residents will now be able to get alcohol delivered to their doorsteps in as little as one hour.
Binny's Beverage Depot is the Midwest's largest retailer of fine wine, spirits and beer, with 31 locations across the region. Instacart is a web-based deliver service, founded in San Francisco, whose personal shoppers hand pick and deliver items from local stores.
"As we continue to expand categories, our goal is to make it easier and more convenient for retailers to get online and offer on-demand delivery," said John Maslowski, Business Development Lead at Instacart. "As a highly requested retailer in Chicago, we're thrilled to have Binny's on the Instacart marketplace to give customers access to beverages they enjoy."
Binny's was founded by Harold Binstein in 1948.
"My father's first delivery in 1948 was on foot. Then we hired bicyclists and eventually trucks. This is the next step in almost 70 years of evolution of putting the customer first," said Binny's owner Michael Binstein.
