Couple helps gopher escape from hole

While driving through Olkhon Island, Russia, a young couple spotted a distressed gopher, trapped halfway in his hole. Apparently the gopher was too big to continue burrowing his way out, and required extra assistance from his human rescuers. The video's description is in Russian, but the translation is below.

"Someone ate too much and paid for it. Stuck in his own hole in the middle of the main road of Olkhon. Had to bail out gluttonous gopher. Sorry for the vertical"

Gopher obesity is definitely a touchy subject when it comes to wildlife health and wellness. But hopefully this incident will inspire the gopher to cut down on the fatty foods in the future.
