Police warn of Grand Boulevard robbery incidents

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police are alerting residents of a series of robbery incidents that have occurred targeting lone female victims in the city's Grand Boulevard neighborhood, police said.

During the incidents, which occurred between July and August, the offenders allegedly approached the victims and took purses and jewelry with physical force, officials said.

Incidents were reported from the following locations:

  • 300-block of W. 47th Street on July 9 around 3:20 p.m.
  • 400-block of W. 47th Street on Aug. 1 around 12:30 a.m.

Offenders were both described as African American males between 17-25 years old, between 5-foot-4 and 5-foot-9 and weighing around 155 pounds.
