Alleged suspect in officer beating released from custody, Harvey police say

HARVEY, Ill (WLS) -- Harvey police say the Chicago Police Department has released a suspect accused in the beating of an off-duty Chicago police sergeant.

ABC7 Eyewitness News spoke exclusively with Brian Williams this weekend before he turned himself in.

Investigators say the off-duty sergeant was attacked Thursday in a Loop parking garage. He remains in the hospital.

Chicago Police say the investigation is on-going.
