CHICAGO (WLS) -- Former House Speaker Dennis Hastert's lawyers have filed 41 letters of support for him ahead of his sentencing next week on breaking federal banking laws.

Prosecutors say he broke those laws to pay off past victims of sexual abuse.

Among the letters is one from former U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay.

The letter reads in part, "I know his heart and have seen it up close and personal. We all have our flaws, but Dennis Hastert has very few. He is a good man that loves the lord."

Hastert is scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday morning.
